Now in its 12th year, Shanghai Fashion Week is going from strength to strength. Boasting an array of talent including International Woolmark Prize alumni Ban Xiao Xue and Ffixxed Studios, the week now attracts a healthy mix of local and international buyers and media. For the first time, The Woolmark Company joined forces with TRANDS, Kevin Kelly, ICICLE and Beautyberry to showcase the latest in luxury menswear tailoring.
Committed to supporting the local luxury menswear industry, The Woolmark Company launched a joint Woolmark Gold show with TRANDS, Kevin Kelly and ICICLE to showcase their latest Autumn/Winter wool collections at Shanghai Fashion Week. The Woolmark Company also held a separate Woolmark Gold show with Beautyberry, the fashion label from renowned Chinese designer Wang Yutao.
Bold checks were on trend, featuring in all four labels’ collections, with striking pinstripes also making a few appearances.
Pops of reds and greens stood out amongst a dark colour palette and whilst traditional tailoring was dominant, brands opted for a more contemporary look, choosing sneakers as footwear or sockless models in a cropped pant. And whilst Woolmark Gold fabrics focus on the luxury market for menswear, the sole female model of the catwalk show highlights the masculine tailoring trend in her TRANDS made-to-measure double-breasted suit.
The event showcased high-quality fabrics, traditional craftsmanship and modern silhouettes designed to meet the demands of fashion-conscious youth and style-savvy consumers.
Representing the finest Australian Merino wool and making use of first-class wool yarns and fabrics from traditional British and Italian spinners and weavers, Woolmark Gold offers superior quality fabrics to high-end menswear designers.
